Peter is a security researcher and tinkerer. Currently working on the HashiCorp threat detection and response team, with previous roles spanning both network and systems operations, and security roles across various industries - from service providers to video games. In his spare time, Peter performs security research, and helps to build and maintain various open source tools.

TrashPanda - Using Nuclei to rummage through your clouds

Abstract

This talk discusses how HashiCorp uses the Nuclei engine to perform continuous security scanning of internet facing services deployed across multiple Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). This tooling, affectionately referred to as TrashPanda, enables the detection of known security misconfigurations and vulnerabilities across both development sandboxes and production environments.
