Code of Conduct for Hardly Strictly Security

Introduction

"Hardly Strictly Security," a virtual event focused on open source cybersecurity tools and digital safety, is committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and respectful environment for all participants. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

Expectations

Professionalism: All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers are expected to exhibit professionalism, understanding, and respect in all interactions, regardless of the virtual nature of the event.

Diversity and Inclusion: We embrace diversity and expect all participants to respect other attendees’ gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, physical appearances, race, ethnicity, age, religion, and technological choices.

Constructive Communication: Engage in collaborative and constructive dialogue. Disagreements should be handled with patience and respect.

Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment: This includes, but is not limited to, offensive verbal comments, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing, photography or recording, sustained disruption of sessions, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Discrimination: Any form of discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, or religious beliefs is strictly prohibited.

Inappropriate Content: Sexualized language and imagery, violent language and imagery, and any content that violates the professional nature of the event is not acceptable.

Reporting and Enforcement

Immediate Action: If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, please contact event staff immediately. Virtual moderators will be identifiable throughout the event, or you can email contact@hardlystrictlysecurity.io.

Consequences: Participants violating these rules may be warned, temporarily banned, or permanently expelled from the event at the discretion of the organizers, without a refund.

Support: Event staff will diligently work to assist those experiencing harassment to ensure their safety and comfort during the event. This includes providing necessary support or resources.

Health and Safety

Virtual Etiquette: Maintain a respectful and safe environment. This includes appropriate background and noise control during sessions.

Privacy: Respect the privacy and security of other participants. Do not record, photograph, or share personal information without explicit consent.

ProjectDiscovery organizers will make the final call on violations of the community code of conduct presented here, and if an action is not explicitly covered here, we can still decide whether or not it is a violation of the code of conduct based on the safety of attendees.
